EMBOSSING/DEBOSSING
Embossing is a raised design, logo or graphic image that is pressed into the material from underneath. This process is a little more expensive and a little more difficult than the debossing process. It requires two dies, a male and female die, thus creating more production steps and die charges. Embossing can only be done on softcovers.

Debossing impresses a die into the surface of the ChannelBind cover material, leaving a depressed (debossed) imprint of the design, logo, or title on the cover. It is similar to hot foil stamping, decorating the covers without the foil and only leaving the stamped impression (debossed into the material) onto the cover. ChannelBind can deboss both hard and soft covers.

Material compatibility:
Embossing can be produced on soft covers only, while deboss decoration can be produced on both soft and hard covers. If decoration is desired on clear cover, foil stamping is recommended.
